WHERE WILL MY SESSION TAKE PLACE?
We will meet online using Zoom video conferencing for all days/nights or in person at my Brentwood office on Wednesdays from 9 am - 5 pm.
HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?
Couples Counseling is $200 for one 50 minute session. We will meet on the same day and time every week. Sessions can be longer, if needed, and billed at a pro-rated rate.
Individual Counseling is $200 for one 50 minute session.
Life Coaching is $200 for one 50 minute session.
Initial Phone Consultation $100 for one 20 minute session (new prospective clients only).
WHAT PAYMENT TYPES DO YOU ACCEPT? WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE?
I do not accept insurance. Sessions are charged via credit card on my website or Venmo. I offer weekly, bi-weekly and monthly sessions (for those who are looking to exit therapy).
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL/RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?
Cancellations/rescheduling need to be made 48 hours before your appointment time otherwise you will be charged. That means if your appointment is at 10 am Thursday, I need to be notified by text or email by 10 am Tuesday. If your session is on a Monday notice must be given on the previous Friday. For all in person sessions, notice for rescheduling and canceling must be given via text or email 48 hours before your scheduled session. Spots for in person sessions are extremely limited and if you miss more than two scheduled in person sessions then future sessions will be held via Zoom.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M RUNNING LATE?
I will hold the time I have reserved for you, but we will end at your same scheduled time.
DISSPELLING THE MYTHS OF THERAPY
Beginning therapy can be anxiety-provoking for some people. It is understandable that you might be nervous and apprehensive about the process. It is important to dispel the myth that going to counseling is for weak people who can’t solve their own problems. Quite the contrary, the strongest and most intelligent people go to therapy. Why? Because if you have the opportunity to learn the best ways to communicate with your spouse, raise your children and have a successful career - wouldn’t you take it?
MY PARTNER ISN'T SURE ABOUT THE IDEA OF COUPLES THERAPY
If your partner is nervous about the process please encourage them to address them when we meet. Couples therapy only works when both parties are invested in the process. A lot of people believe that going into couples counseling means that the couple is headed towards a divorce, which again is a myth. Did you know that pre-marital counseling is so effective that the state of Tennessee actually gives you a discount on your marriage license if you attend sessions?
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
Your first appointment will be an intake, like an informal interview. I will collect information about your personal history, therapeutic goals and answer your questions regarding the therapeutic process. Together we will create a treatment plan. Our second session will be actual therapy. If you are coming to couple’s counseling, after the couple’s intake, I will conduct individual intakes with each person and then on the 4th session start actual couple’s counseling.
HOW LONG WILL THERAPY LAST?
This depends entirely on the individual and the issues he/she would like to work through. Therapy can last from three months to many years.
DO YOU OFFER VIDEO CONFERENCING ONLINE OR PHONE SESSIONS?
Yes. If you are away from home and do not want to miss a session, I offer sessions through Zoom video conferencing or phone. This is a service I offer only to clients who are residents of the state of Tennessee.
